Xerox Driver Install Guide for Windows 7

 

  1. Double-click on the [.exe] file that you downloaded using the links on the previous page.  The Xerox Phaser Printer Drivers window will be displayed.

    The default destination folder will be displayed in the Destination folder field.  It is suggested that the default not be changed.

  2. Click on [Install]. The necessary print driver files will be extracted, and then the Add Printer Wizard will be displayed.
  3. Click on [Add a Local Printer].
  4. Perform one of the following options:
    • If the Standard TCP/IP port has already been created on the computer, select the port from the Use an Existing Port pull-down menu and then skip to step 8.
    • If the port does not already exist on the computer, select the [Create a New Port] radio button, select [Standard TCP/IP Port] from the Type of Port pull-down menu, click on [Next], and then continue with step 5.
  5. Enter the IP address or hostname of the printer in the Hostname or IP address field.

    NOTE: The IP address can be found on the System Settings List. This should be set to a standard of 192.168.0.199 for all offices, except for Head Office, which is set to 10.0.0.19.

  6. Make sure the "Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use" option is not checked, and then click on [Next].
  7. Click on the [Have Disk] button. The Install From Disk window will be displayed.
  8. Click on the [Browse] button, and then browse to the location of the folder where the driver files are located.  This is usually in the folder: C:\XEROX\.
  9. Click on the [.inf] file, click on [Open], and then click on [OK].
  10. Click on the [OK] button. The Install the Printer Driver window will be displayed.
  11. Click on the appropriate printer model, and then click on [Next].
  12. Confirm the name of the printer, and then click on [Next].
  13. Click on [Finish].
