Xerox Driver Install Guide for Windows XP/Vista/2003

 

  1. Double-click on the [.exe] file that you downloaded using the links on the previous page.  The Xerox Phaser Printer Drivers window will be displayed.

    The default destination folder will be displayed in the Destination folder field.  It is suggested that the default not be changed.  

  2. Click on [Install]. The necessary print driver files will be extracted, and then the Add Printer Wizard will be displayed.
  3. Click on [Next].
  4. Click on the [Local printer attached to this computer] radio button, and make sure the [Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer] check box is not checked.
  5. Click on [Next].
  6. Click on the [Create a new port] radio button, and then select [Standard TCP/IP Port] from the Type of port pull-down menu.
  7. Click on [Next].  The Add Standard TCP/IP Port Wizard will be displayed.
  8. Click on [Next].
  9. Enter the IP address of the printer in the Printer Name or IP Address field.

    NOTE: The IP address can be found on the System Settings List. This should be set to a standard of 192.168.0.199 for all offices, except for Head Office, which is set to 10.0.0.19.

  10. Enter a name for the port in the Port Name field, or use the name provided.
  11. Click on [Next].  The Completing the Add Standard TCP/IP Port Wizard window will be displayed.
  12. Click on [Finish].  The Install Printer Software window will be displayed.
  13. Click on [Have Disk].
  14. Click on the [Browse] button, and then browse to the location where the driver files have been extracted. This is usually in the folder: C:\XEROX\
  15. Click on the [.inf] file, click on [Open], and then click on [OK].
  16. Select the correct driver for your printer, and then click on [Next].
  17. Enter a name for the printer in the Printer name field, and then select whether or not to set the printer as the default.
  18. Click on [Next].
  19. Click [Yes] to print a Windows Test Page, and then click on [Next].
  20. Click on [Finish]. The print driver files will be copied to the hard drive, and then a printer icon will be displayed in the Printers or Printers and Faxes window.
  21. Once the driver installation is complete, Right-click on the driver and click [Properties]
  22. Change the default for Paper Size to A4 and Colour to Black and White

Windows XP Driver Installation Complete.
