11FTC adopts eco-friendly printing

Philippines-based printing firm 11FTC Enterprises has shifted away from solvent inks to eco-friendly low-solvent ink technology by investing in digital printing solutions from Hewlett-Packard (HP).

The print service provider's plant in Novaliches, Quezon City uses HP Scitex (XL1500, FB6100, and XP2300) and HP DesignJet L65500 printers, which use HP Latex printing technology and water-based UV inks, for more environmentally sound digital printing.

According to HP executives, the water-based inks do not produce ozone emissions during printing, and do not contain hazardous air pollutants, helping print companies become more environment-friendly.

John Gilbert Madarang, 11FTC's general manager, said: "Our use of HP's large-format printers is a testament that we are leading the industry toward a solvent-free future.

"HP digital printers also allow us to enable our clients to go green and help build a sustainable planet."
