Shareholders of Xerox and Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) have been contacted over the possible merger of the two companies.
Three independent advisory firms have recommended the transaction to shareholders which would see Xerox become a world leader in business processing and document management.
The three firms - RiskMetrics Group, Glass Lewis & Co. and Proxy Governance Inc. - have all published reports detailing the benefits of the proposed acquisition which shareholders will be asked to vote on next month.
According to RiskMetrics Group, a large majority of shareholders are convinced that Xerox is well placed to accommodate ACS following the deal which will see them strengthen their position as a global leader in IT and printing support.
Special meetings will be held for shareholders on February 5 to vote on the acquisition.
