APS Group wins BBC printing deal

The BBC has awarded a major printing contract to Stockport-based APS Group.

The corporation's internal and external publications, including the BBC staff newspaper Ariel and the BBC Proms guide, will now be operated by the print management group.

The company secured the deal because it proved its ability to reduce production costs and environmental impact, APS said. Carbon emissions associated with the contract will also be measured by the firm for BBC.

APS managing director Nick Snelson said: "The BBC presented us with a very complex set of print requirements and to be selected to provide these services is testament to our reputation, ability and focus on quality.

"We will now begin a process of identifying the suppliers which will service the contract and highlight the range of services available to each BBC office.

"That this contract has been awarded to a North West based company, further demonstrates that the region's print services industry is in good health."

In March, a range of Scottish Government bodies appointed the APS Group to provide a similar service.
