Michael Bernhardt will take over from Andrej Golob as head of distribution for Hewlett-Packard's Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking (ESSN) business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Bernhardt previously led HP's ESSN operation in Germany and will maintain responsibility for the region until a suitable replacement is found.
Golob quit in December after two years in the job to take over as CEO at Swisscom, Switzerland's largest telecoms provider, but bizarrely HP said he "decided" to leave at the end of last month .
Confirming Bernhardt's appointment in a statement issued to MicroScope, HP said: "Michael brings a wealth of channel and management experience to this position."
The technology giant is also expected to shake-up the ESSN distribution channel as part of its Converged Infrastructure Solutions strategy following the recent split from networking partner Westcon.
