A digital print and copy centre in Zimbabwe has become the first African firm to buy Xerox's ColorQube 9200 multi-function printer.
Harare-based Document Support Centre (DSC) expects the new machine to lower printing costs while giving top image quality and performance.
The cartridge-free printer, which was launched worldwide last year, uses Xerox's proprietary solid ink technology and clean-sheet design that gives higher output at faster speed, significantly reducing the cost of colour when compared with laser printing.
It is also more eco-friendly than conventional printers as it uses crayon-like, non-toxic ink sticks and produces 90% less supplies waste.
DSC MD Stephen Mhunduru said: "The ColorQube's ability to lower the cost of colour printing while not compromising on quality was the factor that clinched our purchase decision."
The company has already used the ColorQube 9200 to print coloured letterheads and hopes its new acquisition will help grow its market share in the country.
