Firm adopts DocuShare solution

Select Data, a US firm that specialises in revenue cycle management services, has adopted Xerox's DocuShare enterprise content management (ECM) platform.

The company offers electronic medical record (EMR) software and coding compliance services to the home healthcare sector.

By including Xerox's MFP-based document imaging solution, the firm aims to make documenting patient records more convenient and efficient for health agencies.

It facilitates quick document retrieval for all clinical and patient information. According to Select Data, the combined system offers a central repository for patient data.

Jeff Brittain, chief technical officer of Select Data, said: "We are not just creating a document imaging system for users to scan in paper documents; we are taking information captured in the EMR and converting that to a user friendly document that can be read side by side with all documentation. This saves users from having to navigate two systems."

Surveyors and others can be provided access to patients' charts, with the help of the new solution.

Mr Brittain added: "The addition of Xerox DocuShare to manage documents within a patient's chart has made this project a huge success."
