HP and DMU launch new IT degree

HP has teamed up with De Montfort University (DMU) to offer a new four-year degree programme - BSc Business Informatics - aimed at developing the technical skills of students in various IT fields.

The course modules include IT services management, project management, networking, servers and storage, cloud computing and virtualisation.

Nick Wilson, vice-president and managing director at HP UK and Ireland, told Computing: "These skills are not developed on other courses. The degree will mean that students not only know how technology is used but also how to apply it in a working environment."

The degree programme will begin in September next year, with up to 70 students expected to join the course in the first year.

Students who are in the third year of their course will be given the opportunity to undertake internships with HP.
