HP And VMware continue integration
HP and VMware have announced plans to collaborate on developing the next-generation of its intrusion protection system (IPS) solutions for virtual and cloud environments.
The collaborative plans include further integration of the existing HP TippingPoint IPS, currently for VMware vSphere deployments, with vShield and vCloud Director.
The companies claim that integrating the products will enable unified security management, an automated processes of scanning, the identifying threats and the blocking of attacks.
This will further improve the maintenance of security policies, and deliver greater protection for cloud, virtual and even traditional IT infrastructure, according to the two firms.
Additional plans include jointly marketing a hardware and software solution that combines HP's TippingPoint vController with VMware's vShield App and Edge protection.
