A bid to entice Sun users to migrate onto Hewlett-Packard (HP) hardware has been launched through a partnership between HP, Microsoft, Novell and Red Hat.
HP has claimed that in the past year, 400 businesses had migrated from Sun to HP.
The partnership aims to simplify migration with an entire suite of services that provide proof-of-concept applications, application migration, initial assessments, implementation and total life-cycle services.
The Novell partnership gives IT departments a 50% discount on SuSE Linux Enterprise Fundamentals on-demand training and Red Hat is offering 25% off Red Hat Global Training.
HP has also worked with Microsoft to support new releases of Windows Server 2008 R2 and an upcoming release of SQL Server 2008 R2.
