Hewlett Packard has struck a deal with the government of New Zealand to supply all of its departments with printers and associated servicing.
The country's department of internal affairs negotiated the contract with the company and will also administer the transactions.
Effective immediately, the deal covers single and multifunction printers as well as print device management services. HP can now supply 201 official agencies in New Zealand.
The agreement means government departments in New Zealand will save 30% on costs because the contract will improve the deployment and management of devices and will reduce the amount of paper being used, according to HP.
The so-called whole-of-government printing services contracts have also been taken up by Canon, Fuji Xerox, Konica Minolta and Ricoh.
