HP Euro panel to take global stage

Hewlett-Packard (HP)'s global panel of legal advisers is set to include the technology firm's European panel, which was reviewed recently.

The firm, which is to start a review of its global roster, is expected to reduce the number of advisers in its worldwide panel, according to sources.

Earlier in 2011, the number of law firms in HP's European panel was cut.

Dewey & LeBoeuf, Baker & McKenzie, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Drinker Biddle & Reath, WilsonSonsini Goodrich & Rosati, and Gibson Dunn & Crutcher are among the companies that are expected to be vying for a place in the worldwide roster.

As part of a review of HP's European roster of advisers in May, it appointed Bird & Bird, Baker & McKenzie and Freshfields to its legal panel.

The worldwide roster will feature European advisers as a sub-panel for the next term, according to a partner close to the review process.
