A major insurance firm has boosted its business performance to more than one million online transactions per day thanks to its use of an HP Converged Infrastructure.
Canada-based Desjardins General Insurance Group (DGIG) said modernising its infrastructure had helped it achieve greater performance and flexibility while lowering operating costs.
The property and casualty insurer collaborated with HP to carry out a large-scale migration of its mainframe environment to a converged infrastructure.
The new system, powered by HP ProLiant and HP Integrity servers, will help DGIG increase its business agility and accelerate growth.
It has enabled the firm to process more than a million online customer transactions every day, at a speed of less than three seconds per transaction.
DGIG senior vice president for technology, Eric Lemieux, said: "Our HP Converged Infrastructure has enabled us to reduce annual operating costs, while cutting processing time and speeding online transactions to enhance customer service.
"By modernising our infrastructure with HP ProLiant and HP Integrity servers, we've future-proofed our data centre with the technology needed to attract top IT talent, and the flexibility required to meet changing business demands."
