HP launches Print Stations in UK

HP is exploring new opportunities within the UK print industry with the launch of a network of "one-stop" print service stores.

The company has opened its first HP Print Station in the country in Nottingham in partnership with John E Wright.

Customers can use the centre to create their products from scratch with the help of HP's multiple tools, ranging from design software and image database to printing and finishing solutions.

The products on offer include documents, posters, brochures, newsletters and other business and marketing material.

HP is targeting small businesses as well as individual customers with the new service, with the hope of setting up 10 such Print Stations in major cities across the country by the end of 2011.

According to HP's Designjet country manager Phil Oakley the company hopes to reinvent itself as a "printing company" rather than being "just a print company".

HP is also considering plans to take the service on to the web so customers can place orders online and take deliveries from a convenient Print Station.
