HP steps up expansion in Africa

HP has announced opening of 10 new offices in Africa as part of its expansion plans on the continent.

Since the launch of its African operations in 1994, the company has steadily increased its reach across some of the biggest markets in the region.

It now plans to step-up the expansion with new branches in Angola, Botswana, Congo, Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania and Uganda to open this month and operations in Ethiopia, Mauritius and Mozambique expected to begin by the end of 2011.

The company has already recruited country managers to head each of its new branches.

HP says it will aim to bring its whole range of hardware, software and services to businesses and individuals in the region.

The company is targeting some the world's fastest growing economies with a portfolio of products and services tailor-made for their needs. It includes new technologies, go-to-market strategies and highly productive partnerships.

HP already has offices in Algeria, Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa and Tunisia.
