Offices that plan to buy new HP computers can expect improved protection against system threats thanks to Norton Internet Security 2011, according to Symantec.
The company has said that with HP systems coming pre-installed with the security software, small businesses can be protected from extraneous threats such as viruses, malware and other system problems.
Symantec says that this free 60-day subscription of Norton Internet Security 2011 on HP computers is one of the fastest and most appropriate security additions the internet protection sector can provide currently.
According to Jason Zajac, vice-president of applications and services at the HP Personal Systems, the decision is indicative of HP's initiative of "helping protect small businesses from online threats from the point of set-up".
Janice Chaffin, group president of the consumer business unit at Symantec, said: "We are pleased to expand our long-standing relationship with HP by providing our award-winning Norton products to millions of HP small business customers.
"The world's top OEMs consistently choose Norton to help protect their customers from cybercrime and for the value we bring to their business."
