The Carbon Trust Standard has been awarded to Marsh & McLennan Companies in recognition of the efforts taken by the firm to cut its carbon footprint across five of its offices in the UK.
The firm's European headquarters at Tower Place in London, as well as its bases in Chichester, Croydon, Norwich and Witham all saw improvements in carbon management.
Marsh & McLennan succeeded in reducing annual carbon dioxide emissions at its core sites by nearly 10% by consolidating office space considerably.
It is also reducing its carbon footprint by installing LED lighting at its Tower Place offices.
The Carbon Trust Standard certifies organisations for real carbon reduction and commitment to ongoing reductions.
