New device promises power savings

Small businesses and homeowners are being offered new power saving technology that promises to cut electricity use by at least 10% annually.

Developed by the South Yorkshire firm EMSc, VO4HOME is a device designed to optimise voltage output and handle power surges to prevent energy wastage.

The Rotherham company says it can help reduce electricity bills as well as the carbon footprint of small businesses and organisations.

It has now teamed up with CO2Sense, a Leeds-based not-for-profit consultancy group, to promote the voltage optimisation technology among small firms across Yorkshire.

First developed for industrial use in large premises and factories, the VO4HOME has been redesigned by EMSc to benefit smaller customers.

Geoff Clifton, VO4HOME's business development manager, said: "This is an exciting project that will provide tangible cost benefits for those involved in the project, whilst simultaneously lowering their carbon footprint. It's very much a win-win situation for the customer."
