Polaroid Z340 camera launched

Polaroid has launched its new Z340 Instant Digital Camera featuring an integrated digital photo printer, at the New York Press Preview for the 2012 International CES.

The printer uses the ink-free Zero Ink Printing Technology from ZINK Imaging to deliver 3x4in prints.

The Z340 makes instant printing and digital photography effortless with its lithium-ion battery that prints up to 25 photos and captures 75 images on one charge.

The camera comes with a 2.7in LCD screen and an SD Card slot.

Users can make use of on-board editing features to crop the image prior to printing. There are also a wide range of border options in the camera's built-in library to make the photos more attractive.

The printer takes just 45 seconds to produce dry prints.

The Z340 prints photos on the Zink printing paper, which has cyan, yellow and magenta dye crystals embedded inside. Before printing, the crystals are clear. The printing process involves the use of heat to activate and colourise these crystals.
