SY Printers look ahead with 'Loop'

South Yorkshire Printers has changed its name to 'Loop' to reflect changes in its approach and new facilities and to enable it to re-position itself for future growth.

The floods of 2007 heavily affected the firm, based at Kelham Island in Sheffield, after which it made investments to the tune of £1.5 million in new machinery and technology.

But the 43-year-old company bounced back into the printing press business within three months of the floods.

Loop managing director Chris Gray said: "We started thinking about updating our image after the floods of summer 2007, which meant we had to invest heavily in new equipment, machinery and the refurbishment of our factory.

"At the same time, this was a great opportunity to have a fresh look at all our areas of operation, including our branding."

The company, established in 1967, designs and prints products such as business stationery, leaflets, direct mail, newsletters, catalogues, books and point of sale material.

Loop also provides a full print management service for many large companies, including advertising agencies, universities and colleges, hotels and restaurants, retailers and manufacturers.
