HP Cloud Computing Solutions will be used by Syngenta, an agri-business company in Switzerland, as part of an infrastructure services contract with the Palo Alto firm.
The seven-year contract will see the Swiss firm adopting a private cloud computing environment for parts of its technology infrastructure.
This is aimed at providing Syngenta an environment with flexibility for expansion and for accommodating changing business scenarios where the company just has to pay for the compute capacity it consumes.
Mike Nefkens, senior vice-president and general manager at HP Europe, Middle East and Africa Enterprise Services, said: "Companies like Syngenta need to be able to manage unpredictable factors driven by both economies and nature and therefore require a flexible and agile technology infrastructure.
"HP combines industry knowledge and technology expertise with virtually unlimited compute power to fuel ambitious growth goals and enable the next level of innovation for Syngenta."
