Paper maker UPM has entered into a new pressroom waste agreement with gravure printer Prinovis Liverpool.
The five-year deal will see UPM recover all pre-consumer material. It will also deliver an in-house waste management service to the printing firm.
Craig Robinson, head of sourcing UK & Ireland, recovered paper, UPM, said: "This contract supports UPM Shotton's vision which is to be the front-runner in creating value from renewable and recyclable materials whilst providing innovative and sustainable solutions to our partners."
Peter Slack, operations director, Prinovis UK, said: "UPM demonstrated a thorough knowledge of our waste management needs and UPM Shotton's operation is a clear example of successful and sustainable manufacturing.
"The contract further supports our vision of environmental performance and improvement across all of our sites."
With this, UPM is further expanding its recycling service. Earlier this year, the company said it was planning to invest £17 million for a materials recovery facility at its Shotton paper mill in North Wales.
