US print firm installs Xerox 800

Print manufacturer Exacta Graphics has installed a Xerox 800 digital press, and is reported to be the first in Wisconsin print industry history to do so.

Acquired from Fujifilm North America Corporation's Graphic Systems Division, the Xerox 800 is appealing for Exacta's customers due to its clear ink cartridge.

The clear ink technology supports improved spot finishes and advanced graphic effects - processing of which usually requires supplementary equipment.

Dan Feagles, vice president of Exacta Graphics, said: "In the Xerox 800, we found the unique capability of the clear ink that our customers can't find on any other digital press option in the area.

"Ideal for smaller run brochures, sell sheets and post cards, the Xerox 800 will allow us to offer a cost-effective solution in today's cost-conscious print market. Clients will have greater flexibility with their creativity while meeting today's economic budget constraints."

The Xerox 800 prints up to 80 pages per minute and offers a 2400x2400 dpi image quality.

Todd Zimmerman, vice president of sales and marketing, Graphic Systems Division, Fujifilm North America Corporation, said: "In a business climate like this one, printers have to find a way to stand out. With all the custom work that Exacta Graphics produces, the Xerox 800 will be the perfect fit for agency clients, direct to manufacturer work and everything in between."
