Xeikon is to launch a range of new products at global trade event Ipex, Print Week has revealed.
The manufacturer told the magazine it planned to unveil a faster version of its duplex digital colour press and a new family of enhancements to IPDS workflow.
Danny Mertens, the company's document printing business development manager, claimed the additions would boost the speed of its 8000 press by 13%, resulting in a rate of 260A4ppm or 19.2 linear metres on stocks up to 80gsm.
He said that one of the new toners included a unique UV-reflective varnish which would enable the press to handle security print applications.
The 8000 "really extends our reach into transactional and transpromo printing", Mertens said, adding that it had a duty cycle of 1m impressions per day, putting it in the realms of other vendors' continuous feed inkjet machines.
