Xerox is hoping to offer advanced assistance to medical professionals, following the acquisition of WaterWare Internet Services.
WaterWare's services include web application and software development, integration and customisation.
With the help of its services Xerox is planning to boost its enterprise content management unit. The latest features will form part of the firm's DocuShare platform.
It will enable medical professionals to efficiently capture and manage electronic health records as well as automate pharmacy orders.
David Smith, vice president of Xerox's DocuShare business, said: "In document-intensive industries like these, we've made it easier to speed up and automate many time-consuming work practices so our clients can focus on what matters most, serving their customers."
WaterWare has been a Xerox Business Partner since 2003, developing technologies on the DocuShare platform as a systems integrator.
