Xerox Corporation has carved a place for itself in the list of most sustainable, diverse and ethical companies, even being recognised as a firm with a very good workplace environment.
The company has put many feathers in its cap recently, bagging accolades such as Forbes magazine's honour for being among "20 Most Responsible US Companies".
It has also been placed on number 25 out of America's 500 biggest publicly traded firms in Newsweek magazine's 2010 Green Rankings. The magazine looked at environmental operations and impact of companies, as well as their standing and policies to come out with the list.
Xerox's commitment to the environment has earned it a Leader's Quadrant for Printers and MFPs honour from Gartner.
In the diversity area, Xerox has garnered 100% on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation's 2010 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) and Best Places to Work survey. Xerox has been given the same rating of 100%, which is the highest score, ever since the start of the survey a decade back.
Also, the company has been honoured by Black Enterprise with the title of "40 Best Companies for Diversity". For firms to be included on the list, they had to place an emphasis on diversity in areas such as the board of directors, workforce, top management and suppliers.
Xerox has an accolade for being one of the best places to work. Its Canada branch found a place on the 2011 Greater Toronto Top Employer chart for helping its ageing workforce with workshops on succession and retirement.
