Xerox has introduced its latest product, claiming it to be first high-speed waterless inkjet system in the world.
According to the firm, the system will offer vivid image quality on low-cost paper. It is ideal for businesses that run on a low budget.
Eric Armour, president of Xerox Graphic Communications Business Group, said: "Xerox's Production Inkjet System cuts through the barriers - cost, quality and reliability - that stood in the way of producing massive numbers of custom print jobs."
The company has also developed the granulated and resin-based ink, targeting the high-speed production market.
The biggest advantage of the latest printer ink technology is that it avoids the use of water, which means no ink soaks through printed paper. It is expected to help cut costs, reduce waste as well as produce jobs on demand.
The newly launched Xerox Phaser printer range features small high-capacity toner cartridges. The printers are particularly designed for small and medium-sized enterprises.
