Demands for the 'green' solid ink Xerox multifunction printer has surpassed all expectations just weeks after its debut, Xerox Hawaii has said.
The Xerox ColorQube 9200 Series multifunction printer picks up its green credentials by using a cartridge-free design, generating 90% less waste and reducing the manufacturing and transport effects on the environment.
The environmental claim is backed-up by a Rochester Institute of Technology-reviewed study which says the printer produces 10% fewer greenhouse gases than a comparable laser printer.
The printer also has economic benefits too, cutting up to 62% from the cost of producing colour pages compared with traditional colour laser printers.
Glenn Sexton, vice president and general manager of Xerox Hawaii, said that demand for the printer had been "phenomenal".
He said: "Within the first week of introducing ColorQube to our Hawaii customers, we bypassed our sales goals by more than 100%. Customers have been asking for a machine that's not only environmentally friendly, but helps decrease overhead costs. ColorQube clearly is the answer."
