Xerox unveils high-speed printer

Xerox has unveiled its new Wide Format 6622 Solution which it says is capable of printing intricate drawings at high speeds.

The wide format black-and-white digital printer, copier and scanner is aimed at the reprographic departments of engineering, construction and architecture companies which require technical drawings to be accessed easily and replicated quickly.

Driven by Xerox's FreeFlow Accxes Print Server, the new device can churn out 22 D/A1 (24" x 36") prints per minute and provides 600 x 1800 dpi printing and 600 x 600 dpi scanning options.

FreeFlow Accxes offers colour calibration with other network printers, easy replication of previous jobs with enhanced management of the print queues and the ability to scan documents to a mailbox on the print server, network FTP location or remote network printer.

Using its built-in colour scanner, the printer can improve on copies of worn out originals with the automatic background suppression muting smudges and creases, and making tattered documents easier to read.

A colour touch screen user interface can help view scans to check for quality and mistakes before a document is printed, reducing wasted prints.
