Hadi Mahabadi, vice president of the Xerox Research Centre of Canada (XRCC), has been honoured with an award.
Mr Mahabadi, who has been working at the company for 30 years, received the Printing Industries of America Robert F Reed Technology Medal during a conference this month.
The award, presented to him at the Printing Industries of America conference, recognises his role in important technology development in the printing industry.
The XRCC has created an emulsion aggregation toner for digital colour copiers and printers.
Mahabadi said: "Emulsion aggregation toner is based on nano-technology. From the customer point of view they can print twice as much with this toner as traditional ones. It is also environmentally friendly."
Commenting on the award, he said it is dedicated to everyone at the research centre who has contributed to the development of Xerox products.
